Thousands of people, including those who live in our own neighborhoods, are struggling to afford just a roof over their heads, leaving little room for a nice meal. There are about 1 in 2 families among the low-income group facing food insecurity. They struggle to make ends meet without a source of income and most have little savings.
Low-income groups especially in an urban setting have fallen deeply into the middle-income trap. Many households need ongoing assistance to overcome Covid-19 impacts. This never-ending lockdown left people with job losses, financial instability, risking their mental health.
To this date, we listen and read many heartfelt stories through a number of phone calls also messages from people them telling about their daily struggles;
- The babies have no choice but to opt for warm water with milk shortage.
- Two siblings sharing instant noodles for their everyday meals
- And some just left with the only salt in the kitchen, nothing else available to cook.
- A mother of four who has little or no means of sourcing their next meal since her husband sick
Give your share to show you care!
Covid-19 has become eye-opening to us. It is a time of generosity and empathy. Despite we are separating from each other, we are more connected than ever. Lend our hand to help those people in greater need because of the situation we are in. Together we stand in unity to relieve their burden in this tough season.
More than 18,259 boxes of Rezeki Ummat that we distributed could end hunger to almost 100,000 Malaysians in the first half of 2021. You too can be part of this amazing effort with only a few clicks/taps in your hand. Your generous support is much appreciated.
InsyaAllah, with your generosity and kindness, we can spread the message of love and compassion to them so they will not feel left behind and isolated.
