8 people are killed and hundreds are hurt

2 weeks after massive quake killed thousands, Turkiye was once again hit by a 6.3 magnitude earthquake, causing panic and severely destroying buildings.

The quake struck Turkiye’s southern Hatay province, near the Syrian border.

Our search and rescue team & emergency relief team in Reyhanli felt the earthquake even though they were at a distance of 70km.

“Eight people were killed and more than 200 injured, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said.

It is extremely tragic that earthquake tragedies have affected Lebanon, Syria, and Turkiye.

The suffering and sadness that the victims of this tragedy experienced were beyond our comprehension.

On Monday (06.02.2023), while people were asleep, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck close to the city of Gaziantep in southeast Turkiye around local time (01:17 GMT).

The earthquake brought down nearly 10,000 apartment blocks in Turkish cities and piled more devastation on millions of Syrians displaced by years of war.

Thousands of people have been confirmed death, with thousands more injured.

We are witnessing buildings collapsed in towns and cities throughout neighbouring nations which sparking desperate searches for survivors amid the rubble of collapsed buildings.

The situation is HORRIBLE!

While the death toll keeps growing daily, people struggle to find appropriate shelter, food, water, medicine, and blankets.

In addition, just look at the temperature, it’s -1°C! This is the condition they have to deal with. It’s very cold!

They have lost everything with no winter coat, no heater.

THEY HAVE NOTHING!

They are struggling under the rubbles, in this very strong winter condition.

Loss of loved ones, the destruction of homes and properties, and the loss of food supplies will surely be a great test for them.

March 2023 Sharing Blessings and Building Hope: Ramadan Relief Efforts for Earthquake Victims in Syria and Turkiye

MyFundAction has provided comprehensive support, including food distribution during Ramadan and aid for earthquake victims in Southern Turkey. In collaboration with partners, they supplied 30,000 packs of bread and 150 hot meal packs for iftar, benefiting 1,000 families. This initiative cost USD 14,200 and lasted for 15 days, benefiting families in Hatay, Turkey, and Idlib, Syria. MyFundAction remains dedicated to aiding Syrian refugees, working with partners to ensure sustainable and effective support for their wellbeing and growth.

MyFundAction provided emergency aid to people affected by an earthquake in regions including Reyhanli, Adyaman, Kilis, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Malatya, Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır, Adana, Hatay, and Idlib in Syria. The aid, including essentials like food, clothing, and shelter, also reached displaced Syrians in Northwest Syria. The initial distribution amounted to USD 163,213.

Our team will be in Turkey and Syria till the 24th of February to manage the emergency aid provided by everyone who has shown their support.

We will be on the ground with our partner, Hayrat Yardim, to visit a few places in Turkiye, including Kahramanmarash, Gaziantep, Hatay, and Azaz, Syria, during this trip.
