Most Koreans have misconceptions about Islam! 

After a few trips to Korea, we have seen with our own eyes, Muslims in South Korea are facing fierce discrimination – coming from their workplace, school, and even the society itself.

One of the highlighted issues is that they think Islam oppresses women, assuming the hijab is used to control women’s freedom. 

Locals also think that Muslims have so many diet restrictions as we cannot consume certain food such as pork and are obliged to fast in Ramadan.

Since 2021, MyFundAction trained their volunteers to handle and hold a free weekly online Islamic class for Korean Muslims and new reverts in Korea to learn more about Islam. 

Last time, the haengbok box project was successfully conducted and it made such a big impact on our fellow Muslims in Korea, proving how welcoming and beautiful our Deen is.

So this coming February, we plan to hold a winter camp for Korean Muslim kids and new reverts in Seoul, South Korea!

Through this winter camp, MyFundAction volunteers will engage with our Muslim brothers and sisters, and foster a warming bond with them through activities like Treasure Hunts with Kids, Inspirational Stories with Adults, Calligraphy booth, and many more! 

Therefore, we take this opportunity to do a waqf program to spread Islam across South Korea.
