The Prophet (PBUH) said,

“The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever.”

(Hadith Bukhari and Muslim).

No other month has better rewards than Ramadan. Usually, people will spend a little more time at home than usual. We dedicated ourselves to increasing our worship, good deeds, and acts of charity.  The last ten days of Ramadan are a chance to reap many blessings to achieve Allah’s pleasure.

Moments like this reflect our ability to maximize the opportunity to help those in need. This family’s house burned into a fire, and they lost the majority of their belongings.

A place called home indeed gives serenity to individuals and families. But how come someone can afford to roof their head when they are struggling financially? Keltom bt. Samat or Mek hope to live in her old house once again.

On her way to Bahau, a sudden call from a close neighbor changed her life forever. The home she lived in for 50 years burned down to ashes. An internal fire struck the house due to a faulty electrical wiring plug near a television.

The incident almost destroyed everything – including all furniture, fixtures, and appliances, including a motorcycle, which was consumed by fire and ruined. Luckily, all Mek’s family includes 8 members, including 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, all survived without injuries.

It has deeply affected the financial and emotional burden for Mek and her family. All of the sweet memories with her passing husband and children remain here. Because of that, she even decides to build a tent near the fire site.

“Though the house was shabby, yet this is my home.”

The family is currently staying in the temporary accommodation provided by the plantation manager. They don’t have any place to go if the house owner wants to take back the house.

Mek is a single mother. She is no longer capable of going to work like before. She only relied upon her grandchild, who earned RM 700 per month as a rubber tapper. Thankfully, the villagers in the housing area support them with their necessities.

Take action! Your tremendous support will be put into construction work immediately. Let us go hand in hand to home this family a better and safer place. Thank you for considering joining us to create a better life for Mek today. May Allah bless you with prosperity in this worldly life and hereafter too.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said,
