Empowering education to new Muslim : Japan and South Korea
In their first year after converting to Islam, 93% of new converts said they were facing a tough time.
They struggled at work place
They struggled to fit between culture and religion
They struggled to be accepted by family and friends
They struggled to find help and live by the way of Islam
According to MyFundAction’s statistics on new converts in 2022, 56 Koreans converted to Islam in Korea, while 100 Japanese did so from 8 Islamic centres in Japan.
This shows that more people are becoming interested in and accepting of Islam as time goes on. However, given the difficulties of being a Muslim, there is still a chance that they will revert to their previous religion.
Therefore, MyFundAction has collaborated with a Muslim revert, Jay Palfrey, a YouTuber and travel vlogger in an effort to educate the world of Islam while supporting new Muslims in Japan and Korea.

For the Japan project, we have waqf programmes with the International Islamic School and two mosques (Masjid Shizuoka and Fujikawaguchiko Masjid).
While for Korea project, we have the Haengbok Box campaign.
All of these campaigns aim to support and provide guidance and education about Islam to the new converts.
We know that Muslim around the world wish to support, but are limited in your time.
Thus, we have taken on that responsibility with passionate hearts, but we need your support.
