“The Syrian children had to burn their clothes and trash in order to survive the freezing cold”
The Syrian children used the heat source generated from burning their own clothes and trash in order to stay warm due to the cold weather that has continued to leave them in such a dreadful state.
The non-stop rain, combined with a drop in temperature in recent weeks, has driven thousands of Syrian refugees to cope with the harsh winter by burning their clothes in order to have enough heat to stay warm. Plus, they cannot use electricity or gasoline to heat themselves because neither is available.
The Syrian refugees had to collect plastic trash and shoe soles found on the street as a material used for burning. Most families here cannot afford to buy a heater and gasoline as they rely solely on fire.
It is heartbreaking to see them in this situation, burning their own clothes. Let us work together to lighten their load by providing them with winter clothing needs.
