“I don’t want to be like other children, some of whom are no longer here.” – Caca
Even though she is only 11 years old, Myzatul Aisya or affectionately called Caca, is aware that she won’t live long.
This is because of the disease she has, Thalassemia Major, a genetic blood disorder, which has caused her blood cells to not function normally since she was 10 years old.
As a result, the iron in Caca’s body becomes excessively high, to the point that she has to rely on a machine called desferal to reduce the excess iron in her blood.
Unfortunately, the machine is now broken beyond repair.
“If Caca doesn’t use that machine, her internal organs will be damaged, like the kidneys, lungs.” – Caca’s mother
If her organs are damaged, it means that Caca is at risk of dying! What about Caca’s dream of becoming a teacher? What about her dreams of making her mom and dad happy?
Now, Caca only hopes for a special medicine every month, as a replacement for the machine. The cost of that medicine is not cheap, and that’s not even including other medical expenses.
So, all kind souls, don’t we want to see Caca achieve her dreams and aspirations? Let’s all work together to reduce Caca’s suffering.
