Uplift B40 Families with Sustainable Community Poultry Project—You Can Be Part of the Change!

Imagine a family living on less than RM20 a day, struggling to put food on the table, with no stable income and little hope for a better future. For thousands of hardcore poor households in Malaysia, this is their daily reality.

But what if something as simple as poultry farming could change everything? Through the Sustainable Community Poultry Project (SCoPP), we are giving families the opportunity to break free from poverty and build a sustainable, dignified life—one chicken at a time.

What Challenges Do B40 Households Face?

B40 households in Malaysia face significant challenges in breaking free from the cycle of poverty. Some of the challenges are:

  • Having low wealth and asset ownership
  • Highly dependent on government assistance
  • Female heads of households tend to receive less income
  • Rising living costs

Without access to sustainable economic opportunities, these families remain vulnerable, unable to improve their quality of life. Addressing this issue is crucial to empowering them with long-term financial stability and hope for a better future.

A Practical Solution for a Better Future

The Sustainable Community Poultry Project (SCoPP), first launched on March 7, 2023, is a groundbreaking initiative by MyFundAction in partnership with Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (KPS).

Together, we are empowering small-scale poultry farmers in Selangor, boosting their socio-economic status and helping them thrive in the hybrid free-range chicken market.

How the Project Works?

The funds raised through this campaign will be strategically allocated based on MyFundAction’s rigorous assessment and selection criteria. Each beneficiary undergoes careful evaluation, and those selected will receive an assistance package worth up to RM8,000.

In collaboration with our partners, we provide comprehensive skills and technical training programs, followed by 6 months of income monitoring to ensure beneficiaries achieve sustainable, long-term financial stability.

If a beneficiary does not meet the targeted goals in income, soft skills, or business development, MyFundAction will extend the monitoring period by another 6 months, for up to a maximum of 2 years.

The Impact of Your Support

SCoPP2.0 is now in its second year, empowering 24 poultry entrepreneurs to thrive. In just the first 5 cycles, over 10,000 hybrid free-range chickens have been produced, generating an impressive average income of RM3,057.87 per cycle.

This success highlights the project’s potential to transform livelihoods and drive sustainable economic growth!
